WE’VE STARTED A RECORD LABEL! THINGS MAY NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN….

Hey gang and media people,

Love Police have started a record label. It’s called LOVE POLICE RECORDS & TAPES.

We’ll make vinyl, cds and yes, cassettes when it feels right.

It’s a creative partnership between BT, who you’ll probably know from Love Police touring (Gillian Welch, Justin Townes Earle, Black Keys, John Prine, Tony Joe White etc), its festivals (Boogie, Out On The Weekend) and merch worlds, and Dave Laing. You maybe know Dave from Dave Laing Publicity, Warner (and Warner’s revival of Festival), Shock Records, Dog Meat Records, for putting together tours by PP Arnold and Alejandro Escovedo and more.

We’ve both been around the block and know what they want to do. They are both passionate music lovers and they both have good taste. They both give a shit.

We have four releases to begin with:

A very raw and very early recording of the mighty WARUMPI BAND playing mostly covers, including a blasting version of the early Eagles rocker ‘Already Gone’.

American up & comer MELISSA CARPER, whose voice and country styling will make you fall in love and floor you at the same time.

Melbourne’s ALEX HAMILTON, who is an integral part of inner-Melbourne’s folk/country-rock scene as both an accompanist and a singer/songwriter/guitarist and whose own earthy tunes deserve to be heard.

And finally, alternative-country anti-folk rock-and-roll singer-songwriter MYLEE GRACE from the Northern Rivers area, whose record has been described as “music that makes you feel like you’re on holidays with friends…“

All albums released November 19 with more to come and you can PREORDER THEM ALL HERE.
We have special limited merch and surprises in store and for now, we are only selling online.

BT says…."I’ve been bringing international Artists to Australia for over 20 years. Most of them have a record label with representation here, but some don’t. Some are only just starting out on their journey and don’t have a record deal anywhere. This label is here to license and release quality recorded music locally that we believe in. Music that might otherwise slip through the cracks, and not find a home here. We get to tell the story of that music and Artist in a bigger way. With an album, with a tour, holding hands the whole way. We may also delve into the past and bring back some forgotten gems. We may look down the street and discover something right there that is undeniable. Our ears are open."

Dave says…. “How’s about we do a collection of ‘70s Melbourne Outlaw Country and a Mangrove Boogie Kings compilation?”

Our ears are open.
