For more than 25 years, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings have stood as two of the most vital voices in American roots music. Welch’s breakthrough came when Emmylou Harris recorded her song Orphan Girl, leading to her acclaimed debut Revival and its follow-up Hell Among the Yearlings.
