New York City’s most diabolical rhythm & blues street gang Daddy Long Legs return to Australia in May for an East Coast run of high-voltage shows — this time armed with their explosive four-piece lineup and their blistering new album, Street Sermons (Yep Roc Records).

Written and recorded at the height of the pandemic—amid political tension, citywide riots, and a whole lot of uncertainty—Street Sermons is a testament to triumph over adversity. It’s an album of the times, for the times, by a band of the people. Fleeing the chaos of NYC, the band hunkered down at Old Soul Studios in Catskill, NY with producer Oakley Munson (Black Lips / Nude Party), who also stepped in on keys and piano, helping morph the trio into a hard-hitting quartet. The record also features guest appearances from John Sebastian (Lovin’ Spoonful) and Wreckless Eric of “Whole Wide World” fame.

Over the past decade, Daddy Long Legs have burned down dance halls across the globe with their explosive, sweat-soaked live shows—earning an unbeatable reputation as one of the most thrilling rock’n’roll acts touring today.

Australian audiences last saw the band tearing through their debut AU tour in 2022, where they unveiled their killer expanded lineup featuring Dave Klein on piano alongside original members Hurd, Aktürk & Styles. This May, they’re back to do it again—louder, wilder, and sermon-ready.

Catch Daddy Long Legs preaching the good word of raw, righteous rock’n’roll this May on Australia’s East Coast.
