JULIEN BAKER 2019

Julien Baker Tour Cancellation
Sad news down the line today from Julien Baker’s management.

“Due to unforeseen personal matters that have arisen, Julien Baker will be cancelling the remainder of her February tour in Japan, New Zealand, and Australia. We extend our deepest apologies to those who have helped to arrange these shows or planned to attend and thank you for your understanding. Ticket refunds will be available at the point of purchase.” Sending big love to Julien for whatever she needs.

Gordi Canowindra headline show 17 February to continue
Gordi is thrilled to be returning to her hometown of Canowindra for her first show there in over four years.  Although we are sad that Gordi will not be joined by her friend Julien Baker, the show will now offer a rare opportunity to see Gordi in an intimate setting amongst her hometown friends, family and fans in the region.  The beautiful and quaint Moorbell Hall will provide a unique setting for Gordi’s enthralling solo performance.  She will be bringing a special guest with her to open the night. “A voice that’s richly melodic and disarmingly natural. Her songs have the power to draw audiences into silent communion.”The New York Times

Internationally acclaimed singer songwriter Julien Baker has a special treat for her Australian fans today. The Memphis native has just announced a run of dates that will see her phenomenal live show return to Sydney, Perth, Brisbane, Byron Bay and Melbourne in 2019. This will be Baker’s third visit down under after a wowing Australian audiences with her sparse and devastating ballads at sold out shows in both 2016 and 2017.

This tour will be the first since the release of Baker’s exceptional sophomore album Turn Out The Lights and marks the first time audiences can hear the record live. Turn Out The Lights is more expansive in sound and vision than its predecessor (2015’s landmark debut Sprained Ankle) but has the same breathtaking vulnerability and resilience. Come February next year, fans will get to hear their favourite cuts from both.

Joining Julien as special guest for these shows is Sydney breakout star Gordi who will be performing songs from her sensational 2017 debut Reservoir – an album recorded across Wisconsin, Reykjavik, Los Angeles, New York and Sydney in between a six year medicine degree and international touring. The Guardian called Reservoirbreezy wintry melancholy at its finest”.

Australian audiences will no doubt get to experience an artist at the peak of her live powers when Baker arrives in the country next year – fresh from multiple tours of north America and Europe as a solo artist and as a member of lauded indie supergroup boygenius. Pre-sale tickets for Julien Baker’s Australian tour will be available from 9am, November 7 until November 10 with general on-sale 9am, November 13. Watch a stirring live rendition of Turn Out The Lights standout ‘Appointments’ below, taken from Pitchfork Music Festival in August.
